苏州大学坐落于素有“人间天堂”美誉的园林古城苏州,学校东邻苏州工业园区,西靠苏州高新技术开发区。悠久的文化底蕴和高新技术的迅猛发展为学校各项事业的发展提供了广阔的舞台。苏州大学计算机科学与技术专业创建于1984年,是江苏省较早的计算机科学与技术专业之一。在二十多年的建设历程中,学院始终坚持“为地方经济服务”的指导思想,以学科建设为龙头,促进学院在师资队伍建设、科研、教学管理等各方面工作的发展。

苏州大学计算机科学与技术学院成立于2002年,其前身是创建于1987年的苏州大学工学院计算机工程系。经过二十多年的发展,学院目前拥有计算机科学与技术博士后科研流动站,计算机科学与技术、软件工程2个一级学科博士点,计算机科学与技术、软件工程、管理科学与工程3个一级学科硕士点,计算机技术、软件工程2个硕士专业学位点。同时学院拥有计算机科学与技术、软件工程2个江苏省一级重点学科、计算机信息处理技术江苏省重点实验室。学院目前设有计算机科学与技术、信息管理与信息系统、软件工程、网络工程、物联网工程和软件工程(嵌入式软件人才培养方向)6个本科专业,其中计算机科学与技术、软件工程、网络工程、物联网工程四个本科专业为江苏省重点专业,其中软件工程专业为国家特色专业建设点,同时是教育部卓越工程师教育培养计划专业,物联网工程专业为国家首批战略性新兴产业相关专业。学院已形成了从本科、硕士到博士三个阶段完整的高级人才培养序列。学院拥有融合通信和智能信息处理及应用两个苏州市重点实验室,并有纵横汉字信息技术研究所、信息技术研究所、多媒体应用技术研究室、高性能计算与应用研究所、嵌入式仿生智能研究所、苏州大学又松软件开发中心、盛世华安-智慧城市研究所、华天亚讯物联社区研究所等校级科研机构。

学院师资力量雄厚,结构合理。目前有教职工153人,其中专任教师113名,包括学术性学位博士研究生指导教师12名、学术性学位硕士研究生指导教师37名、硕士专业学位研究生指导教师2名,教授22名,副教授(含高工、副研)41名,专任教师拥有博士、硕士学位的比例达到84.96%;同时学院还聘请了国内外知名学者15人为兼职教授。在专任教师中有1人是国家级有突出贡献的中青年专家,2人是省级有突出贡献的中青年专家,有2人是国务院特殊津贴获得者,有1人为江苏省高等学校教学名师,有5人是江苏省“333工程”跨世纪学术带头人培养对象,有8人是省“青蓝工程”培养对象,1人为“6大人才高峰”,有1人是姑苏创新创业领军人才,1人是江苏省新长征突击手。专任教师每年发表国内外核心期刊和学术会议论文200余篇,近年来承担了包括国家自然科学基金、教育部博士学科点专项基金、江苏省自然科学基金等科研项目80余项以及横向项目70余项。

近年来,学院在教学改革、课程建设等方面取得了丰硕成果,先后完成多个国家级和省部级教改项目,提出了适合地方综合性大学计算机相关专业人才培养的“三强三优”教学体系以及多模式校企合作人才培养模式,研究成果分别获得江苏省高等教育教学成果一、二等奖。中文信息处理被评为国家级精品课程,面向对象与C++程序设计被评为江苏省精品课程。近五年中,学院教师编写并出版了教材20余部,其中含国家“十一五”规划教材4部,获江苏省精品教材1部,苏州大学精品教材3部。学院始终坚持为地方经济建设服务的指导思想,注重学生实践能力的培养,建立了江苏省高等教育人才培养模式创新实验基地,在长三角区域多家世界知名IT企业建立了教学实习基地。学生在“挑战杯”大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛、信息技术应用水平大赛、服务外包创新应用大赛等各类国家级、省级大赛中屡获佳绩。

学院教学科研环境优秀,设备先进。现有16个专业实验室,有1500余台高性能微机、曙光5000系统、IBM集群服务器等一批先进的教学科研设备。学院资料室图书资料丰富,藏书28000余册,中外专业期刊200余种,能很好地满足教学科研的需要。

近年来,学院积极扩大对外交流与合作,除了与周边地区高校和科研院所建立长期的合作关系外,还与美国、英国、德国、加拿大、新西兰、日本、韩国、香港、澳门、台湾等国家和地区的高校建立了友好交流关系。除了学校设立的奖学金外,学院特设久林爱心助学金、顾淦身爱心助学金帮助学习优秀且家庭经济有困难的学生完成学业。近年来,毕业生就业率始终保持在98%以上,毕业生普遍受到用人单位的好评。

Established in 1984, School of Computer Science and Technology at Soochow University is one of the earliest in Jiangsu Province. For more than two decades, our school has been consistently guided by the belief of “serving the local economic construction”. With discipline construction as the leading one, we are committed to tasks for an overall development, such as faculty construction, science research, teaching and management.

By now, the school has tow doctoral degree programs(Level-ONE) in Computer Technology, Software Engineering. and three master’s degree programs (Level- ONE): Computer Technology, Software Engineering, Management Science and Engineering .Besides, there is Software Engineering and Computer Technology as the Jiangsu Provincial key subject, Computer Information Processing Technology as the Jiangsu Provincial key laboratory, and college-level research organizations like CKC Institute of Chinese Information Technology and Research Institute of High Performance Computing and Application. The school has six graduate programs: Computer Science and Technology, Information Management and Information System, Software Engineering, Network Engineering and Software Engineering(the cultivation of talent for Embedded Software), Internet of Things,among which Computer Science and Technology is a major of provincial brand, Software Engineering is to be constructed as a state-level characteristic major. Meanwhile, the school also has further education majors such as the top-up program of Computer Science and Technology, the self-taught graduate program of Software Engineering, etc. Up till February, By now, the school has 27 PhD students, 269 full-time postgraduates, and 1677 full-time graduates.

With a healthy organization, the school comprises 139 quality faculty members, among whom 97 are full-time teachers, including 9 PhD supervisors, 38 postgraduate supervisors, 20 professors, 37 associate professors. Two of the faculty members are the State Council experts for special allowance; one is the Well-known Teacher of Institutions of Higher Education in Jiangsu Province; four are cultivation subjects for Project 333 cross-century academic leading scholars; eight are provincial outstanding young teachers; one is the provincial new Long March Shock Worker; one is the leading talent in innovation and enterprise in Soochow.

The school enjoys a strong academic atmosphere and a discreet teaching theory. We have always been aiming at cultivating high-quality and innovative talents in the teaching process, and valuing the association of theory with practice. Teaching internship bases have been set up in a great many world-class IT corporations in Suzhou Industrial Park and Suzhou New & Hi-tech District, which not only broadens the approach of student cultivation, but also meets the need of companies, thus contributing to the local economy.
